Begbie School - Smoothie Ingredients
Related to country: Canada

In our design group we have chose the colour to be green with a big window on the side of the cart, to serve our food. We have decided to use rain water and filter it with a pump instead of buying it. We have also decided to use solar energy which will be planted on the smoothie cup on the roof of the car.

In the recipe group we have decided to use ingredients 100 mile from where we are and call ourselves the 100-mile smoothies. We have decide on blackberrys, berryblitz and lemon something as our last flavour.

Our progress so far are going good, we are looking at recipes and fruits that are seasonal and that are within 100 miles and we came up with using rhubarb so far.

Please comment on what you think we should use rhubarb with as a combonation . THANKYOU

100-mile smoothies ☺

We are reporting on behalf of Begbie Elementary. We are reporting fo the food cart (100 minle smoothies). 100- mile smoothies is a fod cart that is gonig to be open in two of the busiest corners in downtown. We will be opened all 4 seasons of the year, We are deciding whether to put a poem onto each of the cups, which will be made from biodegradable things. If we agree to put poems on the cups, there will be a colour of the day to write the poems in. :)

TIG process from Begbie Elementary
Related to country: Canada

Hey, we are from Begbie Elementary which happens to be in Vancouver, Canada and this is the report on the progress of our TIG project. We divided into 3 groups.

Marketing Group

We are going to do a commercial to advertise the smoothies, 100 mile smoothies, which means that we are going to get most of our ingredients grown from places within 100 miles of our location. We are also working on the script to put the commercial together. We are also doing a website about our smoothie cart. We are going to decide the logo and information posted on our website. The location that the food cart will be in is in a busy corner in downtown. The location is going to be changed every different part of the day. The time that we are going to be open for is still being decided.

Recipe Group

In the recipe group we decided that we are going to pick all local grown fruits and vegetables. So far we have decided on 3 recipes, a blackberries,Blueberry and Raspberry smoothies and Lemon and Strawberries yogurt smoothie. We have 9 more recipes to create so that customers have more of a choice on what they have. Also the smoothies can be changed a little if you have any allergies. We have decided that the cup will be made from a biodegradable so that it will not fill up landfills and produce more garbage. We have one issue on how to clean the blenders, we think we could use rain water that is filtered, any suggestions?

Design Group

we have decided the colour of the Food Cart which will be a neon green, it will be a ice cream truck type of food cart that will powered by solar energy. On the top of the cart there will be a giant smoothie cup. Inside we will have a freezer/refrigerator for the fruits and vegetables. We also have a window on the side where we will be able to put up the menu and sell the smoothies.

Begbie TIG Project Progress

We have only begun our TIG project, as we have only scratched the surface.  We have split into 3 different groups, each in charge of different aspects of the project - the cart design group, the recipe and the marketing group.

The cart design group has thought of adding something on the top of the cart to collect rainwater that we can use for washing our utensils.  Because of the large amount of rain in our city, Vancouver, this will conserve energy that is used to have tap water.  Our cart may be mobile and may be able to move around the city, charged with solar energy.

Our cart will only be serving smoothies, with ingredients within 100 miles of Vancouver.  We are planning to make 12 different kinds of smoothies, but so far, we have only come up of 3 different kinds.  We are also using biodegradable packaging.

To advertise our cart, we have thought of making a website and a filmed advertisement.  The website will feature our location, hours, and other information that we think are important.  The video commercial for our cart may be posted on our website and Youtube.

As we are thinking of making our cart able to travel, we are planning on moving our cart around the city to different parts of the city, when they are busy, so that we will have lots of costumers.
